ABOUT
Jacqui has painted since childhood and art was a major subject at college. The pressures of work and family gradually reduced time for painting and it wasn’t until she retired some fifteen years ago that she returned to it. She has re-developed her skills and style in response to a genuine love and sense of wonder of the natural world. She frequently works outdoors, capturing forms and structures in the landscape in poetry and sketches. Working in a wide range of media, these initial thoughts are then translated into finished pieces back in the studio.

To be alive is to be immersed
In the beauty of the world
To be entranced by its mystery
Inspired by its uncertainty
And the immensity of the unknown
Precariously suspended over
The incompleteness of understanding
That our weak senses reveal
We see only shadows of unexplored territory
Surrounded by the awesome majesty of creation
Here on our small blue dot
Space, time, matter and energy
Melt into a cloud of probability
And life is precious.
